This is a quilt I hand quilted last summer. It will be in our new book published next month by Quiltmania - Quilts and Rugs by Polly Minick and Laurie Simpson. That's a nice, easy title isn't it?
We'll have more on this soon. Remember, there is always time to take a stitch.

I am working on a quilt using a new CQR Ruler.
I am working on a quilt that I went into my fabric vault and pulled out 2 charm packs of Roman Holiday and 2 yards of Winter by Minick & Simpson. Sure wish I could get my hands on more of the winter piece I am using.
I'm taking a Pot Holder quilting class, so I'm working on my 12" blocks for that. I'm not doing Civil war era fabrics, instead I chose to do my version of a 30's era color scheme. Today I need to make 4 of the applique blocks!

Today I'm working on the latest Grandmother's Choice block--kind of a fun and challenging one this week--a seven pointed star!
I am working on a vintage Dresden Plate quilt. I found the petals at a thrift shop a few years ago. They are now sewen together to make the outside of the flower. There are 30 of them. The fabrics date from 1930's to 1970s.

I am working on a reproduction of an antique quilt made by Sarah Morrell. The pattern was created by Di Ford of Australia. It has 60 blocks and I'm a little over half way. Today, I finished the binding on my first large quilt in almost two years, I'm so excited to finally have a large finish. (several surgeries interrupted my quilting for those 2 years, so only small projects were done here and there) Now I'm headed back to work on a quilt called Desert Sunset done in batiks ranging from deepest magenta and slowly shading out to gorgeous golds. Well, of course, there's never just ONE thing I'm working on! I sewed a backing yesterday for a quilt top that I finished on Friday. Today, I'll be sewing on a binding for a Christmas quilt and starting in on the hand sewing. I've made it a Worldwide Quilting WEEK!
I happily finished a very fussy quilt top yesterday on National Quilting Day - it's lovely but was a bit tedious getting to the lovely part! Now I'm free to work on some exchange blocks, and my next top will be a Lady of the Lake done in your Indigo Crossing line!

I just finished skirts for my daughters to wear to a St. Patricks's Day party.
Late last night I remembered watching snowflakes falling through the glass windows of a sugarhouse as I was working on a new applique pillow. We drove through icy roads to the local Maple Taste and Tour on National quilting Day and stocked our cupboards with locally made maple syrup. Two sugarhouses are less than 20 miles from our place. It was fun walking in fresh snow to the sugarshacks & watching the sap boil in huge evaporators. Happy National Quilting Day weekend!
I celebrated national quilt day by going to a quilt show. So inspiring! Then I came home and worked on finishing up a lap quilt for my daughter's in-laws.
I have two rugs I am working on, one I am trying to finish to enter in the fair. I have to since I have made a fuss about everyone else who is doing this rug entering theirs. I also have cut out the fabric for the Prairie Paisley quilt, now I have to get sewing.

I have one more tree to make on my enlarged version of Brrrrr Park, and that's what's on my sewing table right now. But I had to take a little detour for my surgeon to do some stitching of a different kind on two occasions (yes, I said twice) this past week. Never quite considered before ever having a two-fer when I go to the hospital for a single. The only time that would be good would be when buying an ice cream cone! Love your reds! I just finished a little table topper, and going to start my Sacajawea - block by block. I'm really looking forward to the process.
I am working on several projects--one is a small wool project for a gift. I also have a quilt with binding half-sewn on and two spool quilts in process. My daughter just left and we sewed and sewed. We had gone to QuiltCon in Austin and when we got home we went to work! It was a great time for me and I remembered the many time my mama sewed with me. What a blessing to have the privilege to sew with someone. Have fun learning French!

I just finished a couple of wool projects. First, a pair of red slippers I made scrappy from some lovely Minnick and Simpson wool. The second was a large wool Moravian star. It turned out marvelous.
My current project is a blue and white log cabin with scraps from American Banner Rose, Clermont Farms and some Charlevoix too. It's going to be a beauty and I think I will hand quilt it with fans. I cannot wait!
